I just got back last night from a 4D3N stay at KPJ Kajang. Initially I was warded due to food poisoning, I've had diarrhoea and constantly vomiting whatever that I had for one hell of a week, to one point where I could not possibly bear the pain of vomiting none other than fluid, so I finally (after having been advised, nagged and forced by Mama and him) decided to surrender myself to the hospital.
The doctor advised me to be admitted so that they I can be put under observation and medications can be given through IV instead of normal tablets which definitely won't work cause I will eventually vomit them all out again. So Friday night onward I stayed in the hospital, received a freaking surprise visit, and stayed until yesterday.
What cause my stay to be prolonged was the sebaceous cyst that I have on my neck.
It has been there for years I think, started off with a small tiny dot on the neck and it kept growing. I consulted a doctor once back in uni and was told that it was not fatal, for as long as it did not press on my veins and cause pain, it should be fine ; which I and others dissent, cause everyone was worried that it will grow even bigger (nanti jadi macam ada seorang pelakon Melayu lelaki yang kat muka dia ada macam ketumbuhan besar tu).
So while I was in the hospital, I asked the doctor whether I can undergo a surgery to remove the cyst, and my medical doctor referred me to a surgeon who then consulted me on Saturday that it can be done, for it will only be a simple and minor operation by using just local anesthetic.
On Monday morning, I went for ultrasound (bukan nak check baby dalam perut for heaven's sake!) and approximately at 12PM I was asked to change into the gown, and they brought me to the Operation Theatre.
It wasn't that horror I must say, I wonder why I was so chillex. But I kept praying and reciting whatever surah I can all the time.
In the O.T, they covered the whole upper part including my face and just left a small hole on the cyst part. So the doctor jabbed me and I felt numb but STILL, I can hear the sound of cutting here and there, I can feel my skin being pulled, twisted etc, I can feel the blood dripping to the back of my neck, I CAN FEEL AND HEAR IT ALL. Oyy wasn't that horror meh?
And to make it worst, halfway through, suddenly there was something that happened which I was unsure of, and the doctor left to clean up his specs or something (from what I can hear from their conversations) and just left me like that (since the medical assistants can't take over the job of a doctor kan), I seriously felt like a chicken being slaughtered halfway and being left in the middle of the slaughtering process cause the person suddenly wanted to sharpen his knife. Sort of. Like a chicken. Seriously.
And they resume working on my cyst later on bla bla bla, operation succeeded, neck has been stitched up, and done. After 1 hour and 15 minutes (approximately), the doctor showed me the cyst. Macam buah laici, the size.
Went back to the ward, and was discharged later at night.
The aftermath :
I can't look left right
I can't laugh too much (that's the saddest and hardest part of all!!)
I can't drive
I need to carefully move, I can't simply turn my head around. Otherwise the benang semua will tercabut, nak? Taknak.
But Alhamdulillah syukur, all praises to Allah I'm now recovering :) From the cyst, diarrhoea, vomiting and all sort of sickness, Insha Allah.
And I thought of something while I was in the hospital.
We live in this world, with everything that we have. But none is ours, including the body and health that we now possess. It all belong to Allah. Everything is His. Thus, we are obliged to take care of something that we borrow, aren't we? What more if the thing that we borrow is from the Almighty. Having said all that, it includes taking care of our body by not being negligent over our health. Because in the end, everything need to be returned to Him.
So, have a good life and take good care of yourself, Insha Allah :) Assalamu'alaikum.
